Clinton and Lawrence in joint appeal to Iran to free Maziar Bahari

“The U.S. and Canada are making a joint plea to Iran to resolve several cases of Americans and Canadians detained or missing in Iran,” reports AP in a story carried by The Charleston Daily Mail. “The statement was issued in New York by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Canada’s minister of foreign affairs, Lawrence Cannon.” Named individuals include Newsweek’s Tehran correspondent, Maziar Bahari, detained since 21 June without access to a lawyer.
